Spicy Thai Seasoning

Thai cuisine has been rapidly growing in popularity in this country and Thai restaurants can now easily be found in cities of all sizes. As with many restaurant menus Thai restaurants tend to gravitate towards rarer ingredients and/ or complicated recipes that are next to impossible to recreate in your home kitchen. But it doesn’t need to be so complicated.

Thai cuisine is known for its liberal use of fresh herbs and spices and authentic stir fries, noodle and curry dishes. Mastering Thai cooking, like the ordinary people of Thailand cook and eat at home, is not difficult once you develop a better understanding of the flavor profiles and techniques.

Taste is a key component of all Thai dishes. Thai cuisine is based around five essential flavors: salty, sour, spicy, bitter and sweet. Between three and five of these will in some shape or form, be found in most Thai dishes. The assortment of spices used in Thai cooking results in an exceptional aroma which is the result of the harmonious combination of every part of the dish.
